Terrassa is a town only about 30 km in the west nearby Barcelona.
By train: At Plaça Catalunya (Barcelona) you need to find the entrance to a train station called Ferrocarrills de la Generalitat (FGC).There is an entrance in front of a big building called FNAC and there is another one at the top of the Rambla. They are basically on the other side of the square from where you can find the RENFE station. You can buy your ticket using the machines in the station which are in English and fairly straight forward to use. You can pay with coins, notes or cards. Price 3 €. Look at the TV screens to check which platform the train leaves from, it will put ‘S1 TERRASSA’ in orange. It isn’t complicated because it’s quite a small station. There are trains every 20 – 30 minutes and the journey takes about 40 minutes. Terrassa is the end of the line.
By buses: From Monday to Friday there are buses every 12 minutes from 05.30 to 23.00, and at weekends and bank holidays from 06.00 to 24.00. They operate as far as the main station Plaça Catalunya (Barcelona) in about 20 minutes, where you can take the FGC train to Terrassa.
